DocuScan Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 1, 2026
Application: DocuScan (com.trupermax.docuscan) for Android
1. Who we are and scope
DocuScan is an Android document scanning app. It is published by Trupermax ("we"). For any privacy question, write to trupermaxcontacto@gmail.com.
This policy explains what information the app handles, what information the third parties that serve ads collect, and what you can do about it. It applies to the version of DocuScan published on Google Play.
2. Plain-language summary
- Your documents are processed and stored on your device. We do not receive them or upload them to any server.
- DocuScan has no accounts or sign-up, and we use no analytics or crash reporting of our own.
- The camera is used only to scan documents.
- The only traffic to third parties is for ads. Ad networks may collect your advertising ID, IP address, and device and app information. Your documents, images and file names are not sent to those SDKs.
- You can choose about personalized ads in the consent form and change that choice later in Settings.
3. Information we handle
3.1 Your documents and images
Pages you capture or import, their thumbnails and the generated PDFs are stored in the app's private storage. Each document's data (name, dates, pages) is stored in a local database (SQLite/Room). Edge detection and filters run on the device with OpenCV. The app does not perform OCR or use cloud AI. We do not receive this data.
3.2 Camera permission
We use the camera only to capture documents. The camera is optional: you can import images from your gallery with the system photo picker, without granting general storage access.
3.3 Local preferences
Stored on the device (DataStore): theme, language, quality, name prefix, export folder, and the state of the temporary feature unlock (24 hours after watching a rewarded ad). They do not leave the device.
3.4 Data collected by ad SDKs
DocuScan shows banner, interstitial and rewarded ads through the components below. Each provider handles data under its own policy.
| SDK | Provider | Data it may collect or use | Purpose | Policy |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| LevelPlay (mediation) 9.7.0 | Unity (ironSource) | Advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, ad impressions and events | Ad mediation and delivery, measurement, fraud prevention | https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy |
| Unity Ads adapter 5.15.0 | Unity Technologies | The same types of data | Ad delivery and measurement | https://unity.com/legal/privacy-policy and https://unity.com/legal/cookie-policy |
| User Messaging Platform (UMP) 4.0.0 | Your consent choice and data needed to show the form for your region | Requesting and recording consent | https://policies.google.com/privacy | |
| Google Play services: advertising ID and app set ID | Advertising ID (GAID), app set ID | Providing identifiers to the ad SDKs | https://policies.google.com/privacy |
The ad SDKs also add network permissions (INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE) and others related to ads and Android background services to the app.
The app handles ad impression data internally, but today it does not send it anywhere (the current implementation does nothing).
4. How we use information and legal basis
- App functionality (scanning, saving, exporting): done on your device at your request.
- Advertising: ads fund the app. Where the law requires it (for example, in the EEA and the UK), we ask for your consent through the Google UMP form. Elsewhere, our basis is our legitimate interest in funding the app with ads.
If you do not consent, the app keeps working and may show non-personalized ads. The ad SDKs are still initialized, so they may continue to process technical data needed to serve ads (for example, the IP address).
5. Storage, security and backup
Your documents are in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot normally access. We do not claim the app encrypts them: they rely on your device's protection (screen lock and Android encryption).
Android backup: the app allows Android backup. If you have Google backup enabled (or transfer data to a new phone), scanned documents and the database may be included in that backup, which Google manages under its own policy. You can turn it off in Android settings. We do not access those backups.
6. Sharing and exporting
Your documents leave the app only when you decide:
- Sharing: a temporary copy is created and handed to the app you choose.
- Exporting: it is saved to
Documents/DocuScanorPictures/DocuScan(Android 10 or later) or to a folder you pick.
Once exported or shared, the file is under the control of the destination app or folder and is not deleted when you delete the document in DocuScan or uninstall the app.
7. Advertising and consent
On launch, the app may show a Google UMP form. Your choice is passed to LevelPlay. If your region requires it, in Settings → Ad privacy options you can review it at any time.
From Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID and limit ad personalization. It is usually under Settings → Google → Ads (the path may vary by manufacturer).
8. Retention and deletion
- Deleting a document in the app removes its folder (pages, thumbnails and PDF) and its record.
- Uninstalling the app removes all local data. Exported files and Android backups follow the rules above.
- We do not keep your personal data on servers of our own. Data handled by the ad SDKs is kept according to each provider's policy; we do not set retention periods for it.
9. Your rights
Depending on your country, you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability (for example, under the GDPR), or to know, delete and opt out of sale or sharing (for example, under CCPA/CPRA). Because DocuScan has no accounts and we do not keep your personal data, the data you control is on your device and you can manage it directly. For data handled by ad providers, you can exercise your rights with them using the links in section 3.4; you can also write to us and we will point you in the right direction. If you are in the EU, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
10. Children
DocuScan is not directed to children under 13 (or to minors in general). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us.
11. International transfers
Ad providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the United States and others, under their own safeguards. See their policies in section 3.4.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date. For significant changes, we will notify you in the app or on the Google Play listing.
